The Library
 |
Despite the fact that the University has been established only recently, the library has more than 77.500 books in Arabic and in English. It also has subscriptions to over 340 periodicals. In addition, the library has Audio-visual materials and political and economic maps. . The library books and materials are assigned to three locations: Building A, houses books and references for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Building B, houses books for the Faculty of Economics and Administration, while Building C houses books and references used by the Faculties of Engineering, Law, Pharmacy, and Medical Sciences.
The library has an automated bibliographical database, and has linkages with other libraries and information centers. The study halls attached to the library provide a quiet good working atmosphere.

Girl Dormitories
 |
Girl students from outside Jordan can choose to live in one of two-style dormitories.
The first-style dormitory, Rabi'ah Al-Adawiyeh, consists of apartments. Each apartment has the necessary
utilities such as kitchen and bathroom. The second-style dormitory, Ashama, has one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom apartments, each with a separate telephone, a kitchen a study hall and a bathroom in every room to provide privacy.
In addition to providing hot running water all year round plus heating during the winter season,
there are study halls, a gymnasium, television and ping-pong halls and laundry facilities. Residents
are provided with free transportation from the dormitories and back. The dormitories are supervised by highly
qualified personnel who can provide guidance and counseling when needed.

Transportation
 |
Amman University is located on a main road where public transport is always available.
Students, therefore, do not face any difficulties in commuting to the University
from distant or near places. Nevertheless, the university has provided shuttle buses with daily
pick-ups for students from different specified locations to and from the University for only very
reasonable fees.

Medical Services
 |
The University provides all students under its health insurance system with preventive and therapeutic
medical services. A clinic at the University has been provided with necessary medical equipment to
facilitate clinical examination. A medical file is prepared for every new student. Students are
normally treated at the clinic, but serious and emergency cases are referred through the University
clinic to hospitals contracting with the University.

Student Affairs
 |
Student Affairs Deanship is concerned with the overall well being of student life on campus Student Affairs oversees and/or
organizes all various extracurricular cultural, social, and athletic activities.

|
Athletic Activities
 |
All students are encouraged to participate in athletic activities. The University has made available
all that is needed to help students practice their hobbies. Numerous athletic competitions among the
University faculties are held yearly in basketball, soccer, volleyball, ground tennis, etc. This
is in addition to the various athletic and cultural activities provided by
Amman University Arena.

Cultural Activities
 |
The University has a special interest in developing the skills of all students. Therefore,
the University has made available, and established numerous clubs and committees, where students
are encouraged to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that interest them,
such as mounting scientific and cultural exhibitions on campus which are open to students and guests
from the community. Moreover, these clubs are expected to organize celebration festivals, social
gatherings, artistic exhibits, symposia, lectures and many other activities, including celebrating
national, scientific and religious occasions.

The Mosque
 |
The Mosque Keen to foster the student’s religious beliefs, the University has built a mosque equipped
with the necessary facilities including books and cassettes on religion. Prayers, including
those on Friday are commonly held in this mosque.

Post Office
 |
For the convenience of students, a post office was opened at Amman University at the beginning
of the academic year 1993/1994. This office offers the mailing and phone call services to the
students, which makes it easy for them to communicate with their relatives.

|
International Office
 |
This office provides communication linkages between Amman University and other Arab and foreign
universities. Bilateral cooperation agreements with other universities are typical of its
involvements. The office also pays attention to the issue of continuing education through
organizing short courses with emphasis on hands–on know-how. Students can find help through
this office to seek university placements for their graduate studies abroad.
